This frees your monitor up and gives you the ability to make and manage calls right from the android based handset.
They are offering several desk phone options ranging from the basic device shown above to theC450HDwhich has expansion capability for sidecar support.
The plus side to using a desk phone over the software is that you're freeing up the computer for work, as well as having a physical dial pad, like the traditional phones. Teams displays, like the below, are also being offered to allow users the capability to use video calls on top of voice calling. Integrating Cortana as a voice assistant also opens the door for other features, such as checking your calendar or asking it to join a meeting without ever pausing what you're doing on the computer.
Microsoft is also offering some of the devices as a service option. This allows you to make payments over time and make large deployments a little easier to swallow.
